Authentic fair trade for small producers around the world

The Building Stones Mission Shop at Stone Presbyterian Church in Clinton, NY sells Fair Trade products from the United States and around the world. Fair Trade means artisans and farmers are paid a fair wage and work in healthy conditions. Fair Trade brings dignity and hope to marginalized populations and makes it possible for people to work their way out of poverty.

Stone Church started selling fair trade goods to its congregation a number of years ago.  It now has an established public shop, staffed by volunteers, located in the church basement. Annual sales total over $28,000.  The shop sells products from BeadforLife; SERRV International; Equal Exchange; Ten Thousand Villages; Women’s Bean Project; Maggie’s Organics; Mayan Hands; UPAVIM; PalCraftaid; and Partners for Just Trade.

Profits from the shop support a variety of causes and missions including Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, and the Mohawk Valley Resource Center for Refugees. We also raise tuition money for two children enrolled in Life School in Panajachel, Guatemala.

By promoting Fair Trade in our church and community we are supporting the health and welfare of people by providing a means for them to be contributors to the world economy.

Our shop is open every Thursday from 10AM to 6:30P.M., every second Saturday from 10A.M. to 4P.M., and at the Farmer’s Market on the Village Green every Thursday during the summer.  We are also open every Saturday between Thanksgiving and Christmas, and during the Clinton Shopper’s Stroll the day after Thanksgiving. The main entrance to the shop is on Williams Street. Wheelchair access is via the ramp located on the left side of the Park Row front entrance to the sanctuary. We accept all major credit cards.
